What I do

One designer, start to finish.

From the first walk round your garden to the last plant in the ground, it’s me you deal with: consultation, survey, the drawings, the planting, the lighting and the project-managed build. No hand-offs, no surprises.

How I work

A garden that feels personal, considered and easy to live with.

Designed for you

Designed for your life, not just your plot

Before I draw anything, I want to know how you actually want to live out here: morning coffee, supper with friends, somewhere for the children to roam. I place huge value on understanding that first, then the design follows your life.

Planting know-how

Deep planting knowledge, honestly applied

The right plant in the right place is half the work. I choose varieties, quantities and combinations for your soil, light and aspect, so the garden reads as timeless rather than trend-led and gets better every year.

Established planting chosen for its conditions
Phased to your budget

Built for the long game

A garden doesn't have to land all at once. I plan in sensible phases so the structure goes in first and the rest can follow your budget and the seasons: a scheme that grows with you over years, not weeks.

I used Alex's services to design and completely overhaul my new garden, which was essentially just a lawn. We did the front, too. From our first meeting, I knew she was the one to design my garden.
Nikki Corrick
Alex gave us a fabulous design which Wayne worked on in all weathers! The end result is a wonderful garden.
Chris Calvey
From start to finish, Alex demonstrated an exceptional level of professionalism and creativity. We couldn't be happier with the results.
Brechtje Philipsen
My garden was quite the mess — bare beds and an awful 80s rock garden. Alex pulled together a fabulous design and I cannot speak more highly of her.
Sam Gee
A talented and accomplished landscape designer. From the initial consultation through to the final design, Alex was fully supportive of our requirements.

About

Hello, I’m Alex.

I came to garden design the long way round: ten years in advertising before I retrained at the KLC School of Design. What drew me in is the same thing that keeps me here: shaping a real, living space that fits the people who use it.

Plants are in the family. I grew up around farming and market gardening, so I think as much about how a garden grows and lasts as how it looks on opening day. The result is gardens that feel timeless, not trend-led, and easy to live with for years.

When I’m not designing, I run a gardening club for children at my local school and sit on its grounds committee. A garden, to me, is something you live with and pass on.
